Biography

Ms. Lucy Mwangi, a development sociologist , with more than 25 years working experience in the fields of policies,strategies formulation, projects/programmes design, management, implementation, review, assessments and evaluation. Lucy has the ability to think innovatively and strategically in dealing with policy issues to draw meaningful and practical recommendations for policy and investment priorities. She has also conducted policy policies/strategies formulation, design, analysis and evaluation in different countries. She has provided technical advice for empirical research and analytical studies with particular reference to nutrition &Food security, agriculture extension, and value chain analysis, market systems, gender, climate change, and Social protection in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria and Rwanda.

As an international consultant, Lucy has worked in collaboration with many senior government’s officers within Africa as well as with donor organizations including Bill &Melinda Gates Foundation, GIZ, FAO, UNDP, USAID, Agriterra, SCC, CTA, World Bank, EU and DFID among others.

Lucy holds a Master’s degree in Rural sociology and community development, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Extension.
