Objective:
The overall objective of the BFG project is to deploy a Market System Approach (MSA) to identify tools, approaches, partnerships, and incentives that may successfully improve sustainable access to and uptake of appropriate, affordable bicycles in sub-Sahara Africa/Rwanda, thereby increasing mobility, particularly in rural areas, and aid in alleviating poverty.
Scope of the assignment:
- The aim is to conduct a market system assessment that examines current challenges to bicycle supply and demand in targeted locations in Rwanda with the aim to develop market systems that will deliver sustainable access to and uptake of appropriate, affordable bicycles.
- It is anticipated that BFG project, this assessment will bring more opportunities to rural communities by facilitating them to reduce the cost of transport for both goods and other services.
- This research inform the design and conduct of scalable pilot projects in four to six localities (district level or smaller) across in selected two countries, with the goal of reducing barriers to increased bicycle supply and uptake.
