Contract timeline: February – May 2022
Objective: To collect data, analyse it and report to inform the baseline socio-economic status of households in the non-targeted areas of SAPMP project sites to establish the baseline values of each indicator in the result framework.
Scope of the assignment:
- Data
The data to be collected for the additional baseline survey will come from comprehensive, multi-module household surveys. These data will allow the project to draw initial and starting point to be compared with the controlled group during the follow up survey, mid-term review as well as end line situation.
- Period:
The data to be collected are from season A and B 2022. The survey will target farmers who do not cultivate in Nyiramageni marshlands assuming that the entire marshlands is used by SAPMP beneficiaries only. In addition, farmers living in Ntyazo Sector of Nyanza District & Mamba and Gikonko in Gisagara District but not receiving any support from SAPMP. The survey household cannot be distinctly project beneficiaries.
- Indicators:
The data collected will help the project to report on the following indicators, which are part of the results framework. The baseline survey is designed to provide values that will indicate the initial status for the following project indicators as presented in the Results Framework:
- Agricultural productivity for the selected value chains namely; Grains, Vegetables, Tubers and Cocoon
- Marshland area developed with irrigation and drainage system
- Hillside sustainably developed area
- Adoption of advanced farming technologies
- Cooperatives equipped with good governance
